Carlos Dao is a Venezuelan businessman with a strong commercial vision, and experience in the American and Latin American media and entertainment hardware market. He is based in Miami, where he manages his business operations. His hobbies include Adventure Motorcycling, golf, scuba diving and skydiving.
He is the Managing Director and COO of Grupo Idea, a holding born in Venezuela mainly dedicated to the import and distribution of major appliances and kitchen furniture. The group has extended their operations to Colombia, Costa Rica and Miami. They’re excited to recently welcome their newest client, a European foods importer and distributor in South Florida with strong sales over the Internet (HOW MANY).
He started his career as an Operations Manager of Transvalcar, C.A in Venezuela. At this company, he was responsible of the supervision and execution of new projects in Venezuela, England, Colombia, Brazil and the U.S. Afterwards, he was the General Manager of Transvalcar Air Courier. His background allowed him to start a new professional experience at UPS Supply Chain Solutions in Venezuela where he was the Commercial Director for South America, then Director of Operations, and subsequently the General Manager for Venezuela.
Carlos has also been involved in media broadcasting as a member of the Venezuelan Radio Broadcasting Chamber, and as the NFL broadcaster for the local sports channel, Meridiano TV. He studied Industrial Engineering at Santa Maria University in Caracas and has long participated in the Venezuelan Broadcasting Chamber. He also holds training degrees in Business, Formation of Entrepreneurial Instructors, Quality Image and Leadership Development.
Since 2015, he has been on the board of a non-profit foundation called Fundasonrie that helps children in poverty in their personal development trough arts and sports.
