Errol D. Rappaport
The National Meningitis Association (NMA) named Errol D. Rappaport Co-Chairman of their 2017 “Give Kids A Shot” annual charity gala. This star-studded event supports the non-profit organization’s preventive approaches to bacterial meningitis and meningococcal disease through vaccination programs and research.
From its inception, Errol has been instrumental in the successful planning and development of the annual NMA gala, where hundreds of New York’s movers and shakers turn out to support the “Give Kids A Shot” cause, including past attendees Rod Lainie Kazan, Paul Hampton, Carol Alt, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, James Lipton, and Carol Higgins Clark among others.
Nick and Gary Springer have honored Errol with the “Nancy Ford Springer Inspiration Award” for his longtime passion and support of the National Meningitis Association in honor of Nancy. His philanthropic giving and dedication to others has extended to carig for his elderly parents Frances (with Alzheimer’s) and the late David Rappaport.
Over the years Errol has donated his time and resources to other charities throughout the world in which he deeply believes in such as The Muscular Dystrophy Association, which boasts Lainie Kazan, Elton John, Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna as co-supporters.
Errol’s involvement with the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation has enlightened the public’s awareness about women’s rights, and helps victims of domestic violence.
Errol’s active participation in the Water Initiative, founded by Kevin McGovern, brings together leading global business executives and scientists to effectively utilize sustainable technology to eradicate contamination in water in vulnerable communities worldwide.
In addition, Errol has been a supporter of The Los Angeles Consular Corps, a non-profit corporation fostering goodwill, cooperation and friendly relations between counties and the United States Federal, State and local government authorities.
Errol served his country proudly, as a medic in the United States Air Force, caring for wounded military personnel returning from Vietnam to Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois.
Errol studied acting with Lee Strasberg and was his assistant for 1 !/2 years, believes we all must have “A Dream of Passion” in order to fulfill our destiny,
